Revoked Reinstatement

Get Your License Back

One of the biggest challenges a person faces is license reinstatement. A typical situation stems from a conviction for DUI that results in an indefinite revocation of your privileges — meaning, no amount of time will pass that you will just be reinstated. Therefore, you have to go through the process of earning your privileges back from the Illinois Secretary of State Department of Administrative Hearings. The good news is that (except for those with a life-time ban from driving for receiving 4 or more DUI’s), it is possible to get your revoked driver's license back and fully reinstated. I have continually assisted my clients for more than 18 years on the road to license reinstatement, and I can help you achieve your goal. It will not happen overnight, but it is worth taking the time to do it right.

We start with a free consultation. There, I will need to review with you any and all documentation that you have. We will study your ‘court purposes’ driving record to see exactly what offenses lead to the revocation; we will study all of your treatment documentation from your alcohol/drug counselors including the evaluation, treatment plan, discharge summary, aftercare plan, and the AODA certificate. I will explain the entire formal and informal hearing process, what a Restricted Driver’s License is and how it works, and how the BAIID program works in Illinois. To prepare you for giving testimony to the Illinois Secretary of State at your hearing, we will meet many times in my office or by phone and I will help you understand the differences between the problematic abuse of alcohol (Level II) and the addiction to alcohol (Level III). I will help you get the letters you need to present to the hearing officer and I will answer all of your questions.

Many reinstatement clients prefer appointments on Saturdays so that they don’t have to miss work and can get a ride to my office. So, for many years, I work for a few hours on Saturdays to meet that need.
